The Croquet Player
A contemporary figurative bronze of a woman bent low over her croquet mallet, her body folded at the waist into one rounded arch, arms drawn together into a single tapering line that ends in a slender golden mallet. The artist renders the female form in full, generous volumes, yet the whole mass of the figure comes to rest on the smallest point of the composition: a polished gold ball waiting beside the mallet head. A deep, dark patina flows across the body, warming to bronze where the light catches the curves, while the two gold accents carry the eye down to the ground. A study of concentration with a touch of humour, held in the still second before the stroke.
Cast in bronze using the lost-wax method and mounted on an integrated round bronze base. Signed by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Made to order — a hand-cast piece rather than a stock object.
