A contemporary figurative bronze of a woman in a handstand, legs opened into a full horizontal split and the whole body balanced on a single point. The artist renders the female form in full, generous volumes and then does the improbable with them: the arms narrow to a fine tip on the base, while the legs stretch into one long, level line more than half a metre across, toes pointed. A near-black patina covers the polished curves, warming to bronze where the light catches them, and a band of polished gold rims the round plinth. Weight turned into weightlessness: strength, control and a touch of humour held in perfect balance.

Low and wide, it suits a sideboard, mantelpiece or long shelf. Cast in bronze using the lost-wax method and mounted on an integrated cylindrical bronze base. Signed by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Made to order — a hand-cast piece rather than a stock object.
